Chamomile is an annual native of Europe and Western Asia in the daisy family, growing to 90-125 cm high with very hairy leaves and tubular yellow flowers, surrounded by white ligulets. Chamomile is one of the most famous of the daisy family of plants. This essential oil is extracted from the leaves and flower cones by steam distillation method. It is light green-blue to cobalt blue in color having aroma similar to that of a mixture of apples and newly cut grass.
